Charles Lyell of Kinnordy was born in March 1769.1 He was the son of Charles Lyell of Kinnordy and Mary Beale.2 He married Frances Smith, daughter of Thomas Smith, on 11 October 1796.1 He died on 8 November 1849 at age 80.1

Mary Lyell was the daughter of Charles Lyell of Kinnordy and Frances Smith.2 She married Reverend Gilbert Heathcote, son of Captain Gilbert Heathcote and Anne Lyell, on 15 January 1840.1 She died on 24 December 1843, without issue.2
