     Sir James Winter Lake, 3rd Bt. was born circa 13 May 1741.2 He was the son of Sir Atwell Lake, 2nd Bt. and Mary Winter.3 He was baptised on 21 May 1741 at St. Dunstan, Stepney High Street, Stepney, London, England.2 He married Joyce Crowther, daughter of John Crowther, on 13 June 1764.1,2 He died on 24 April 1807.4
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Lake, of Edmonton, Middlesex [G.B., 1711] on 10 April 1760.4 He was appointed Fellow, Society of Antiquaries (F.S.A.)4
