     He fought in the Battle of Agincourt in 1415.² He held the office of Sheriff of Cumberland in 1440.²

     Margaret de Derwentwater is the daughter of Sir John de Derwentwater.¹ She married Sir Hugh Lowther, son of Sir Robert Lowther and Margaret Strickland.¹
     She was also known as Anne.¹ Her married name became Lowther.¹

     Sir Robert Lowther was born in 1368.¹ He was the son of Sir Hugh Lowther and Margaret Lucy.¹ He married Margaret Strickland, daughter of William Strickland.¹ He died in 1431.²
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cumberland in 1394.² He was Lieutenant of Inglewood Forest in 1396.³ He was Echeator of Cumberland from 1402 to 1403.³ He was appointed Knight in 1403.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cumberland in 1404.² He held the office of Echeator of Cumberland and Westmorland from 1406 to 1407.³ He held the office of Sheriff of Cumberland in 1407.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cumberland in 1407.² He held the office of Echeator of Cumberland and Westmorland between 1413 and 1415.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cumberland in 1415.² He held the office of Sheriff of Cumberland in 1418.³

     Margaret Strickland was born illegitimately in 1370.¹ She was the daughter of William Strickland.¹ She married Sir Robert Lowther, son of Sir Hugh Lowther and Margaret Lucy.¹ She died in 1440.¹
     Her married name became Lowther.¹

     William Strickland was born in 1336.¹ He was the son of Sir Thomas Strickland and Cecily Welles.¹ He died in 1419.¹
     He held the office of Bishop of Carlisle.¹

     Sir Hugh Lowther was born before 1293.² He was the son of Sir Hugh Lowther and Maud de Tilliol.¹ He married, firstly, Margaret Lucy, daughter of John Lucy.¹ He married, secondly, Margaret de Qualc, daughter of William de Qualc.²
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cumberland in 1328.² He was Commissioner of Array for Cumberland and Westmorland in 1329.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Westmorland in 1341.² He held the office of Sheriff of Cumberland between 1353 and 1355.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Westmorland in 1373.²

     Margaret Lucy is the daughter of John Lucy.¹ She married Sir Hugh Lowther, son of Sir Hugh Lowther and Maud de Tilliol.¹
     Her married name became Lowther.¹

     John Lucy held the office of Sheriff of Cumberland.¹ He lived at Cockermouth, Cumberland, England^G.¹

     Sir Hugh Lowther married Maud de Tilliol, daughter of Sir Peter de Tilliol.²
