The Coningsbys had lands in Kenchester in the seventeenth century. Henry Coningsby of Hampton Wafer, by his will dated 11 June 1636 leaves to his kinsman, Gilbert Coningsby, for life, his ‘house and lands in Cenchester, now in possesion of one widow Coningsby, remainder to his son William, remainder to the testators son Bennett and his heirs’ This Gilbert Coningsby was the son of Gilbert of Witherington, fourth son of Thomas C of Leominster. He died 22 June 1662 and was burried at Kenchester.
