     Carla Maria Francesca Malagola, Contessa Cappi was born on 12 February 1914 at Paris, France^G.^2,1 She was the daughter of Guido Malagola, Conte Cappi and Alexandra Dunbar Marshall.¹ She married, firstly, Georgio Roberti Comte Roberti on 9 April 1934 at Rome, Italy^G.¹ She and Georgio Roberti Comte Roberti were divorced on 17 December 1948 at Rome, Italy^G.¹ She married, secondly, George Edward Peter Thorneycroft, Baron Thorneycroft, son of George Edward Mervyn Thorneycroft and Dorothy Hope Franklyn, on 2 April 1949 at Westminster, London, England^G.¹ She died on 7 March 2007 at age 93 at 42 Eaton Square, London, England^G.¹
     She was given the name of Carla Maria Concetta Francesca at birth.¹ From 9 April 1934, her married name became Roberti.¹ From 2 April 1949, her married name became Thorneycroft.¹ After her marriage, Carla Maria Francesca Malagola, Contessa Cappi was styled as Baroness Thorneycroft on 4 December 1967. She was appointed Dame Commander, Order of the British Empire (D.B.E.) in 1995.³
