Lt.-Gen. Francis Farquharson was born on 18 February 1787.1 He was the son of Reverend Robert Farquharson of Allargue and Elizabeth Innes.1 He married, firstly, Forbes Gerard, daughter of unknown Gerard of Midstrath, in 1823.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Outram, daughter of Benjamin Outram and Margaret Anderson, on 24 December 1829.1 He died in 1872.1
