     He gained the rank of Brigadier in the Royal Artillery.¹

     Harriet Emma Pelly was born on 1 May 1840 at Bellary, Madras, India.² She was the daughter of Charles Pelly and Julia Henrietta Dobbs.³ She married Colonel Charles John Pearse, son of Dr. George Pearse and Anne Sarah McCulloch, on 14 April 1859.¹ She died on 28 November 1928 at age 88.¹
     From 14 April 1859, her married name became Pearse.

     Colonel Charles John Pearse was born on 20 July 1834 at Seccunderabad, India.² He was the son of Dr. George Pearse and Anne Sarah McCulloch.² He married Harriet Emma Pelly, daughter of Charles Pelly and Julia Henrietta Dobbs, on 14 April 1859.¹ He died in 1919.¹
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the Indian Staff Corps, Indian Army.¹ He gained the rank of officer in the 47th Madras Native Infantry.²

     Mary Pelly was the daughter of Charles Pelly and Julia Henrietta Dobbs.² She married William D. Horsley on 7 April 1864.¹ She died on 9 May 1924.¹
     From 7 April 1864, her married name became Horsley.

     William D. Horsley married Mary Pelly, daughter of Charles Pelly and Julia Henrietta Dobbs, on 7 April 1864.¹ He died in 1899.¹
