     He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Indian Army.¹

     Edward Clifford-Walsh lived at St. Aidens, Arklow, County Limerick, Ireland^G.¹

     Kathleen Mary Clifford-Walsh was the daughter of Edward Clifford-Walsh.² She married Lt.-Col. Hutcheson Raymond Pelly, son of Rear-Admiral Francis Raymond Pelly and Mary Posnett, in 1913.¹ She died in 1984.¹
