     Howard John Elphinstone was born on 30 May 1862.¹ He was the son of Sir Howard Warburton Elphinstone, 3rd Bt. and Constance Mary Alexander Hankey.² He married Katherine Curteis, daughter of Herbert Mascall Curteis, on 22 October 1889.¹ He died on 2 February 1895 at age 32.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Highland Light Infantry.¹

     Emily Chisholm Macpherson was the daughter of James Macpherson.¹ She married Claude Mainwaring Strachey, son of Richard Charles Strachey and Charlotte Lindsay Hankin, in 1887.¹ She died on 4 August 1922.¹
     From 1887, her married name became Strachey.¹

     Katherine Curteis was the daughter of Herbert Mascall Curteis.² She married Howard John Elphinstone, son of Sir Howard Warburton Elphinstone, 3rd Bt. and Constance Mary Alexander Hankey, on 22 October 1889.¹ She died on 23 May 1896.¹
     From 22 October 1889, her married name became Elphinstone.

     Katherine Elizabeth Elphinstone was born on 24 June 1892.¹ She was the daughter of Howard John Elphinstone and Katherine Curteis.² She married Sir William Wigham Richardson, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Philip Wigham Richardson, 1st Bt. and Ross America Colorado, on 20 April 1921.¹ She died on 10 July 1945 at age 53, without issue.¹
     From 20 April 1921, her married name became Richardson.

     Sir William Wigham Richardson, 2nd Bt. was born on 12 June 1893.² He was the son of Sir Philip Wigham Richardson, 1st Bt. and Ross America Colorado.² He married Katherine Elizabeth Elphinstone, daughter of Howard John Elphinstone and Katherine Curteis, on 20 April 1921.¹ He died on 15 November 1973 at age 80.¹
     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England.² He gained the rank of Captain in the Queen’s Royal West Surrey Regiment.² He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1919.² He was Aide-de-Camp to the Governor of Barbados between 1918 and 1920.² He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1919.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Kent in 1940.² He gained the title of 2nd Baronet Richardson, of Weybridge, co. Surrey [U.K., 1929] on 23 November 1953.¹

     Graham Warburton Elphinstone was born on 17 October 1866.¹ He was the son of Sir Howard Warburton Elphinstone, 3rd Bt. and Constance Mary Alexander Hankey.² He married Susan Sophy Harley, daughter of Henry Casper Raper Harley, on 13 October 1896.¹ He died on 21 February 1903 at age 36.¹
     He was with the Indian Civil Service.¹

     Henry Casper Raper Harley lived at Madanapalle, India^G.¹

     Susan Sophy Harley was the daughter of Henry Casper Raper Harley.² She married, firstly, Graham Warburton Elphinstone, son of Sir Howard Warburton Elphinstone, 3rd Bt. and Constance Mary Alexander Hankey, on 13 October 1896.¹ She married, secondly, George Middleton, son of Captain R. W. E. Middleton, on 3 July 1909.¹ She and George Middleton were divorced.¹ She died on 1 October 1962.
     From 13 October 1896, her married name became Elphinstone. From 3 July 1909, her married name became Middleton.¹

     Sir Howard Graham Elphinstone, 4th Bt. was born on 28 December 1898.¹ He was the son of Graham Warburton Elphinstone and Susan Sophy Harley.² He married Alice Mary Emerton Brown, daughter of Philip John Emerton Brown, on 14 July 1924.¹ He died on 18 May 1975 at age 76.¹
     He was educated at Sedbergh School, Sedbergh, Cumbria, England^G.¹ He fought in the First World War in 1917.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Elphinstone, of Sowerby, Cumberland [U.K., 1816] on 3 January 1917.¹ He was with the Kenya Civil Service in 1921.¹
