Sir John Assheton Eardley-Wilmot, 5th Bt.1 
He was educated at Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, Devon, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (D.S.C.) in 1943.1 He gained the rank of Commander in 1950.1 He was commander of the H.M.S. Opossum between 1951 and 1953.1 He was appointed Lieutenant, Royal Victorian Order (L.V.O.) in 1957.1 He was with the Monopolies Commission between 1967 and 1982.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society of Arts (F.R.S.A.) in 1970.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Eardley-Wilmot, of Berkswell Hall, co. Warwick [U.K., 1821] on 9 February 1970.1
