     Sir James Dundas, 16th of Dundas was the son of Sir William Dundas, 15th of Dundas and Margaret Wauchope.² He married Margaret Sandilands, daughter of Sir James Sandilands, 7th of Calder and Mariot Forrester, before 28 June 1551.¹ He died in 1553.¹
     He held the position of 16th Chief of the Name and Arms of Dundas from in 1513.¹ On 22 October 1513 he had sasine of his estate.¹

     John Hamilton, 3rd of Orbiston was the son of Gavin Hamilton, 2nd of Orbiston and Marion Wallace of Cairnhill.² He married Margaret Hamilton, daughter of John Hamilton, 2nd of Haggs and Janet Maxwell.¹ He died on 14 May 1568, killed fighting for Mary, Queen of Scots.¹
     He fought in the Battle of Langside on 14 May 1568.¹ In 1570 his estates were confiscated by the Regent Moray and Orbieston House was burned by the English.¹
