Sir George Alexander Drummond Dunbar of Durn, 8th Bt. was born on 10 May 1879.1 He was the son of Sir Drummond Miles Dunbar of Durn, 7th Bt. and Maria Louisa Smith.2 He married Sophie Kathleen Kennedy, daughter of James Benson Kennedy, on 24 May 1916.1 He died on 25 June 1949 at age 70.1
He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Dunbar, of Durn [N.S., 1698] on 4 January 1903.1 He fought in the First World War, in German South-West Africa and France.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Black Watch (SR.)1
