Edward Noel French was born on 26 December 1878.² He was the son of William Michael French and Frances Browning Hone.^2,1 He married, firstly, Cicely Marguerite Eardley-Wilmot, daughter of Sir William Assheton Eardley-Wilmot, 3rd Bt. and Mary Watts-Russell, in June 1911.² He and Cicely Marguerite Eardley-Wilmot were divorced in 1914.² He married, secondly, Gladys Heatley Ward, daughter of Robert Ward, on 25 November 1924.² He died on 3 January 1942 at age 63.²
