     Colonel Deane C. Shute was born on 22 April 1820 at Hannover, Christchurch, Dorset, England.2 He was the son of Thomas Deane Shute and Charlotte Cameron.2 He married Elizabeth Isabella Brownlow, daughter of Reverend John Bligh Brownlow and Alicia Browne, on 3 September 1850 at Holy Trinity, Bath, Somerset, England.2 He died on 21 November 1883 at age 63 at Stanzfeld, Wimbledon, Surrey, England.2

     General Sir Cameron Deane Shute was the son of Colonel Deane C. Shute and Elizabeth Isabella Brownlow.2,3 He married Annie Helena Kathleen Elizabeth Forde, daughter of Major Thomas Douglass Forde and Georgina Isabella Catherine King, on 26 October 1892.1 He died on 25 January 1936.1
     He gained the rank of General in the Rifle Brigade.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.)1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)1
