     Maj.-Gen. Sir John Fitzmaurice was born on 24 May 1793.1 He was the son of John Fitzmaurice and Mary Bourke.2 He married Frances Maria Watkins, daughter of Venerable Henry Watkins, on 3 November 1824.1 He died on 24 December 1865 at age 72.1
     He fought in the Peninsular Wars.1 He fought in the Battle of Quatre Bras, in the advance guard.1 He was appointed Knight, Hanoverian Guelphic Order.1
