     Major John Ernest Tollemache was born on 19 November 1898.² He was the son of Hugh Ernest Tollemache and Caroline Mary Payne.¹ He married Violet Edith Gertrude Sands, daughter of William Rae Sands and Edith Constance Mary Wells, on 19 September 1921 at Kensington, London, England^G.¹ He died on 7 April 1969 at age 70.¹
