     Lt.-Col. Clive John Affleck Halford Auchinleck was born on 1 April 1923.¹ He is the son of William John Alexander Halford Auchinleck and Norine Evelyn Murphy.² He married Sylvia Smith, daughter of George Smith, in 1949.¹
     He was educated at Newton College^G.¹ He gained the rank of officer between 1943 and 1947 in the 25th Dragoons.¹ Between 1947 and 1949 3rd Carabiniers.¹ He gained the rank of officer between 1947 and 1949 in the 3rd Carabiniers.¹ He retired from the military in 1972, with the rank of Lieutennat-Colonel, late of the Royal Army Ordnance Corps.¹ He lived in 1976 at The Old School House, Great Snoring, Fakenham, Norfolk, England^G.¹

     Sylvia Smith is the daughter of George Smith.² She married Lt.-Col. Clive John Affleck Halford Auchinleck, son of William John Alexander Halford Auchinleck and Norine Evelyn Murphy, in 1949.¹
     From 1949, her married name became Auchinleck.

     Mark Halford Auchinleck was born on 1 August 1950.¹ He is the son of Lt.-Col. Clive John Affleck Halford Auchinleck and Sylvia Smith.² He married Honor Lenore Mitchell, daughter of Thomas Walter Mitchell and Sybil Elyne Keith Chauvel.³

     Daniel Eccles Auchinleck was born in 1797.¹ He was the son of Reverend Alexander Auchinleck and Jane Eccles.² He married Elizabeth Dorothea Stack, daughter of Reverend Thomas Lindsay Stack and Margaret Smith, on 16 November 1833 at Omagh, County Tyrone, Ireland.^1,3 He died in 1849.¹
