     He was educated at Oundle School, Oundle, Northamptonshire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the Second World War, severely wounded in Italy.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Ulster Rifles.¹ He lived in 1976 at Tyconnett, Ballyrtahillch, County Down, Ireland^G.¹
