     Thomas de Sausmarez was born in 1756 at Guernsey, Channel Islands.2 He was the son of John de Sausmarez and Martha Le Marchant.3 He married, secondly, Catherine de Havilland, daughter of Sir Peter de Havilland and Carterette Fiott.3 He married, firstly, Martha Dobrée, daughter of Isaac Dobrée, on 20 October 1780.1 He died in 1837 at Guernsey, Channel Islands.2
     He held the office of Attorney-General [Guernsey] in 1820.1 He was Seigneur of Sausmarez between 1820 and 1837.1 He had 23 other children.3
