     Major Andrew Carden was born on 4 August 1910.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. John Carden and Susan Ellen Wake.² He married, firstly, Katherine Hugo Cross, daughter of Captain unknown Cross, on 19 June 1937.¹ He married, secondly, Elizabeth Knapman, daughter of John Knapman, on 18 April 1973.¹ He died in July 1996 at age 85 at Colchester, Essex, England.³
