     He fought in the First World War.¹ He lived at Listoke, Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland^G.¹ He fought in the Major, Royal Irish Rifles.¹

     Katharine Jessie Winsloe was born on 9 June 1881 at Eccles, Lancashire, England.² She was the daughter of Richard Herbert Somers Winsloe and Jessie Mary Wrigley.^1,2 She married, firstly, Major Alfred Bellingham Cairnes, son of Thomas Plunket Cairnes and Sophia Gaussen, on 24 June 1903.¹ She married, secondly, William Fitzgerald Tuthill, son of Captain John Fitzgerald Tuthill, on 10 June 1918.¹ She died on 27 January 1958 at age 76.¹
     From 24 June 1903, her married name became Cairnes. From 10 June 1918, her married name became Tuthill.¹

     John Richard Cairnes was born on 23 February 1911.¹ He was the son of Major Alfred Bellingham Cairnes and Katharine Jessie Winsloe.² He died on 16 January 1935 at age 23, unmarried.¹

     Margaret Elizabeth Mary Cairnes was born on 24 December 1906.¹ She is the daughter of Major Alfred Bellingham Cairnes and Katharine Jessie Winsloe.^2,1 She married Herbert William Nicholson on 3 September 1936.¹
     From 3 September 1936, her married name became Nicholson.
