     Maj.-Gen. Benjamin Burton was born on 10 March 1855.¹ He was the son of Reverend Benjamin Burton and Anne Bruen.² He died on 24 April 1921 at age 66.¹
     He gained the rank of Major-General in the Royal Horse Artillery.¹ He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1901, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)¹

     Colonel Hon. Edward Lawless was the son of Edward Lawless, 3rd Baron Cloncurry and Elizabeth Kirwan.¹ He married Mary Elizabeth Burton, daughter of Reverend Benjamin Burton and Anne Bruen, on 16 June 1880.¹ He died on 24 April 1921.¹
     He lived at Bryanstown, Maynooth, County Kildare, Ireland^G.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Dublin Fusiliers.¹

     John Power Burton was born on 2 September 1833.¹ He was the son of William Fitzwilliam Burton and Mary Power.^2,1 He married Adelaide Harriet Close, daughter of Henry Samuel Close, on 31 December 1861.¹ He died on 10 April 1869 at age 35.¹
     He gained the rank of in the Indian Cavalry.¹

     Henry Samuel Close is the son of Reverend Samuel Close and Deborah Champagne.² He married Jane Waring circa 1820.²
     He lived at Newtown Park, County Dublin, Ireland^G.¹

     Adelaide Harriet Close was born circa 1832.¹ She was the daughter of Henry Samuel Close.² She married John Power Burton, son of William Fitzwilliam Burton and Mary Power, on 31 December 1861.¹ She died on 2 June 1937.¹
     From 31 December 1861, her married name became Burton.

     John Henry Burton was born on 7 October 1862.¹ He was the son of John Power Burton and Adelaide Harriet Close.² He died on 17 August 1940 at age 77.¹
     He was a practising Barrister-at-Law.¹ He was land agent to his paternal uncle, William Fitzwilliam Burton.¹ He lived at Newtown Park, County Dublin, Ireland^G.¹

     Arthur Power Burton was born on 15 March 1865.¹ He was the son of John Power Burton and Adelaide Harriet Close.² He died on 6 January 1941 at age 75.¹
     He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)¹ He was an artist, exhibiting at the Royal Academy.¹ He lived at Altidore Castle, County Wicklow, Ireland^G.¹

     Algernon Burton was born on 25 November 1866.¹ He was the son of John Power Burton and Adelaide Harriet Close.² He married Edith Constance Tahourdin, daughter of Horace Foster Tahourdin, on 3 October 1907.¹ He died on 23 October 1932 at age 65.¹
     He was registered as a Associate, Insitution of Electrical and MEchanical lEngineers (A.I.M.E.E.)¹ He was with Callenders Electrical.¹ He emigrated to New Zealand^G arriving on 1910.¹

     Horace Foster Tahourdin lived at South Kensington, London, England^G.¹

     Edith Constance Tahourdin is the daughter of Horace Foster Tahourdin.² She married Algernon Burton, son of John Power Burton and Adelaide Harriet Close, on 3 October 1907.¹
     From 3 October 1907, her married name became Burton. She lived in 1976 at 549 Rocks Road, Tahunanui, Nelson, New Zealand^G.¹
