James Dennis, 1st and last Baron Tracton1 
He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)3 He owned large estates in counties Cork, Dublin and Kerry.3 He held the office of Lord Chief Baron of the Exchequer [Ireland].1 He was created 1st Baron Tracton, of Tracton Abbey, co. Cork [Ireland] on 13 December 1780.1 He bequeathed his estates in County Kerry to his eldest nephew and heir-at-law, Reverend Meade Swift, and those in counties Cork and Dublin to his other nephew John Swift.3
