     Sarah Hill Johnston was born on 30 September 1822.¹ She was the daughter of Randal William McDonel Johnston and Isabella Anne Jane Birch.² She married William Purdon in February 1850.¹ She died on 17 February 1908 at age 85.¹
     From February 1850, her married name became Purdon.

     Randal William Johnston Johnston was born on 8 September 1858.¹ He was the son of George Birch Johnston and Jane Waring Evans.² He died on 1 April 1942 at age 83, unmarried.¹
     He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the King’s Own Scottish Borderers.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the 5th Battalion, RI Rifles (RARO.)¹ He lived at Glynn, County Antrim, Ireland^G.¹

     George Birch Johnston was born on 28 September 1866.¹ He was the son of George Birch Johnston and Jane Waring Evans.² He died, unmarried.¹
     He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹ He fought in the Boer War.¹ He gained the rank of Private in the Thornycroft Mounted Infantry.¹ He was with HM Customs, South Africa.¹
