James fitz Nicholas1

     James fitz Nicholas was the son of Nicholas fitz Maurice, 5th Knight of Kerry.2 He died, without issue.1
     In 1468 he was one of the Munster magnates who joined in to restore James, Earl of Desmond, to his inheritance.1

     Before 1475 he granted the site for the Friary of Glanworth, County Cork.1 He succeeded as the 6th Knight of Kerry, before 1479.3

     He succeeded as the 7th Knight of Kerry.3 In 1496 he was pardoned for his part in the attempted usurpation of Perkin Warbeck.1
