     Sir Robert Joseph Crosthwaite was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Star of India (K.C.S.I.)¹

     Ethel Elizabeth Crosthwaite was the daughter of Sir Robert Joseph Crosthwaite.² She married Edward Chandos Cholmondeley, son of Reverend Hon. Henry Pitt Cholmondeley and Hon. Mary Leigh, on 21 November 1895.¹ She died on 2 September 1935.¹
     From 21 November 1895, her married name became Cholmondeley.¹

     Hugh Grenville Cholmondeley was born on 25 July 1897.¹ He was the son of Edward Chandos Cholmondeley and Ethel Elizabeth Crosthwaite.² He died on 23 May 1931 at age 33, unmarried.¹
     He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the 16th Battalion, King’s Royal Rifle Corps.¹

     Rupert Wynn Cholmondeley was born on 2 November 1902.¹ He was the son of Edward Chandos Cholmondeley and Ethel Elizabeth Crosthwaite.² He died on 12 July 1927 at age 24, unmarried.¹

     Major Henry Reginald Cholmondeley was born on 11 June 1862.¹ He was the son of Reverend Hon. Henry Pitt Cholmondeley and Hon. Mary Leigh.² He married Cordelia Mercy Ormrod, daughter of James Cross Ormrod, on 17 November 1903.¹ He died on 20 December 1947 at age 85.¹
     He fought in the Burma War between 1887 and 1889.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Cheshire Regiment.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)¹ He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1901, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the 10th Battalion, Devon Regiment.¹

     James Cross Ormrod lived at Wyresdale Park, Garstang, Lancashire, England^G.¹

     Cordelia Mercy Ormrod was the daughter of James Cross Ormrod.² She married Major Henry Reginald Cholmondeley, son of Reverend Hon. Henry Pitt Cholmondeley and Hon. Mary Leigh, on 17 November 1903.¹ She died on 19 August 1949.¹
     From 17 November 1903, her married name became Cholmondeley.¹

     Major Anthony Pitt Cholmondeley was born on 11 February 1908.¹ He was the son of Major Henry Reginald Cholmondeley and Cordelia Mercy Ormrod.² He married Monica Irene Snow, daughter of Reverend Albert Ernest Snow, on 29 December 1936.¹ He died on 28 October 1986 at age 78.^1,3
     He gained the rank of Major in the Gloucestershire Regiment.¹ He fought in the Second World War, where he became a POW.¹

     Reverend Albert Ernest Snow was the Vicar at Watlington, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹

     Monica Irene Snow is the daughter of Reverend Albert Ernest Snow.² She married Major Anthony Pitt Cholmondeley, son of Major Henry Reginald Cholmondeley and Cordelia Mercy Ormrod, on 29 December 1936.¹
     From 29 December 1936, her married name became Cholmondeley.¹
