     Maurice O’Connell was born in 1728.² He was the son of Daniel O’Connell and Maire Ni Dhuibh O’Donoghue.³ He married Mary Cantillon, daughter of Robert Cantillon, on 5 December 1758.² He died in February 1825, without issue.²
     Maurice O’Connell also went by the nick-name of ‘Old Hunting Cap’.¹ He was Deputy Governor of Kerry in 1793.² He lived in 1824 at Darrynane Abbey, County Kerry, Ireland^G.¹ He lived at Derrynane, Ireland^G.² In 1825 he educated his nephew Daniel at his own expense and eventually bequeathed him his estate, worth £1,000 p.a.¹

     Lt.-Gen. Daniel Charles O’Connell was born the 21st child of his parents on 21 May 1745.² He was the son of Daniel O’Connell and Maire Ni Dhuibh O’Donoghue.^3,4 He married Martha Gourand Drouillard de Lamarre in 1796.¹ He died on 9 July 1833 at age 88, without issue.¹
     He gained the rank of Cadet in 1760 in the Royal Suédois Infantry Regiment, French Army.¹ He was Assistant Adjutant circa 1763.¹ He gained the rank of Adjutant circa 1764 in the Clare Regiment, Irish Brigade.¹ He gained the rank of officer in 1769 in the Clare’s (afterwards Berwick’s) Regiment in the Irish Brigade.² He gained the rank of Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the Salm-Salm German Regiment, French Army.¹ Before 1778 he served in Europe and Mauritius.² He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1778 in the Royal Swedois.² He was Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Salm-Salm.² He was created Comte O’Connell [France] in 1783, by King Louis XVI.¹ He fought in the Siege of Port Mahan.² He returned to England after the French Revolution.² He fought in the Siege of Gibraltar, where he was severely wounded.² He gained the rank of Private in 1792 in the Berchini’s Hussars, fighting with French émigrés.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel circa 1794 in the 4th Regiment, Irish Brigade, British Army.¹ He was awarded the Chevalier, Order of St. Louis.² He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General circa 1816 in the French Army.¹

     Martha Gourand Drouillard de Lamarre married, firstly, Comte unknown de Bellevue.¹ She married, secondly, Lt.-Gen. Daniel Charles O’Connell, son of Daniel O’Connell and Maire Ni Dhuibh O’Donoghue, in 1796.¹
     Her married name became de Bellevue.¹ From 1796, her married name became O’Connell.

     Una O’Connor is the daughter of Phelim O’Connor.¹ She married Mahon Monevy O’Brien, Prince of Thomond.¹
     Her married name became O’Brien.¹

     John O’Mullane lived at Whitechurch, Mallow, County Cork, Ireland^G.¹

     Phelim O’Connor lived at Corcomroe, Ireland^G.¹

     Catherine O’Connor-Kerry is the daughter of Mahon O’Connor-Kerry.¹ She married Geoffrey O’Connell, son of Aodh O’Connell and Margaret O’Brien.¹
     Her married name became O’Connell.¹

     Thomas O’Connell was born circa 1735.² He was the son of Maurice O’Connell and Jane Blennerhassett.² He married, firstly, unknown Jeffcot.² He married, secondly, Ellen Tuohy, daughter of Edward Tuohy and Ellen FitzMaurice.² He died on 6 September 1785.²
     He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)¹ He lived at Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland^G.³ He graduated from Aberdeen University, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland^G, with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)² He lived at Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland^G.² He lived at Rathkeale, County Limerick, Ireland^G.² He had three children by his first wife.²
