     Elphinstone Vans Agnew Maitland was born on 27 February 1856 at Madras, India^G.^1,2 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. John Maitland and Arabella Jane Wright.³ He married Lucy Bower, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Henry Bower, on 15 November 1887 at St. George Hanover Square, London, England^G.^1,2 He died on 13 February 1904 at age 47.¹
     He was (an unknown value) at Freugh, Wigtownshire, Scotland^G.¹ He lived at Balgreggan, Wigtownshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Lucy Bower was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. Henry Bower.¹ She married, firstly, Elphinstone Vans Agnew Maitland, son of Lt.-Gen. John Maitland and Arabella Jane Wright, on 15 November 1887 at St. George Hanover Square, London, England^G.^1,2 She married, secondly, Alexander Francis in 1904.¹ She died in December 1953.¹
     From 15 November 1887, her married name became Maitland. From 1904, her married name became Francis.¹

     Catherine Georgiana Alice Maitland was born on 30 August 1888.¹ She was the daughter of Elphinstone Vans Agnew Maitland and Lucy Bower.² She died on 1 September 1969 at age 81, unmarried.¹

     William Alexander Murray Maitland was born on 11 February 1859 at Madras, India^G.^1,2 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. John Maitland and Arabella Jane Wright.³ He married Adelaide Mary Leopold.² He died in 1942 at Granville, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia^G.^1,2
     He gained the rank of in the Australian Imperial Force.²

     Patrick Lauderdale Maitland was born on 24 June 1862 at India^G.^1,2 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. John Maitland and Arabella Jane Wright.³ He married Julia Elizabeth May, daughter of George May, on 16 August 1904.¹ He died on 9 September 1939 at age 77.¹

     George May lived at Cleveland, Ohio, U.S.A.^G.¹

     Julia Elizabeth May was the daughter of George May.² She married Patrick Lauderdale Maitland, son of Lt.-Gen. John Maitland and Arabella Jane Wright, on 16 August 1904.¹ She died on 10 March 1953.¹
     From 16 August 1904, her married name became Maitland.

     Major Lawrence Lauderdale Maitland was born on 30 June 1905.¹ He is the son of Patrick Lauderdale Maitland and Julia Elizabeth May.²
     He was educated at Ackworth School, Pontefract, Yorkshire, West Riding, England^G.¹ He was educated at Sheffield University, Sheffield, Yorkshire, West Riding, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the Reserve of Officers, Gordon Highlanders.¹ He was an engineer.¹
