     Hon. John French was born on 13 March 1853.¹ He was the son of Charles French, 3rd Baron de Freyne of Coolavin and Catherine Maree.² He married Nannie Dillon, daughter of Valentine B. Dillon, on 26 July 1877.¹ He died on 23 May 1916 at age 63.¹
     He was educated at Downside School, Bath, Somerset, England^G.¹ He held the office of Resident Magistrate for County Kerry between 1892 and 1898.¹ He held the office of Resident Magistrate for County Limerick in 1898.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Roscommon.¹ He lived at Miramar, Cobh, County Cork, Ireland^G.¹

     Valentine B. Dillon is the son of Luke Dillon and Anne Blake.²
     He was Crown Solicitor for Sligo.³ He lived at County Sligo, Ireland^G.³

     Nannie Dillon was the daughter of Valentine B. Dillon.² She married Hon. John French, son of Charles French, 3rd Baron de Freyne of Coolavin and Catherine Maree, on 26 July 1877.¹ She died on 3 February 1947.¹
     From 26 July 1877, her married name became French.

     Major Charles John French was born on 13 October 1878.¹ He was the son of Hon. John French and Nannie Dillon.² He married Enid M. Hudson, daughter of George Hudson, in October 1914.¹ He died on 2 July 1916 at age 37, killed in action.²
     He fought in the Boer War.² He gained the rank of officer in the Lord Longford’s Yeomanry.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the 5th Battalion, King’s Shropshire Light Infantry.² He fought in the First World War.²

     George Hudson held the office of British Resident to the Transvaal.¹

     Enid M. Hudson is the daughter of George Hudson.³ She married Major Charles John French, son of Hon. John French and Nannie Dillon, in October 1914.¹
     From October 1914, her married name became French.

     John Cyril French was born on 2 August 1883.¹ He was the son of Hon. John French and Nannie Dillon.² He married, firstly, Cecilia Goldinger, daughter of Isaac Goldinger, on 17 September 1915 at Johannesburg, Transvaal, South Africa.^1,3 He and Cecilia Goldinger were divorced in 1926.¹ He married, secondly, Winifred Eastwood, daughter of Thomas Eastwood, in September 1926.¹ He married, thirdly, Christine Botha.¹ He and Winifred Eastwood were divorced.¹ He died on 30 March 1955 at age 71.¹
     He fought in the First World War.² He gained the rank of Captain in the South African Scottish Regiment.¹

     Isaac Goldinger fought in the Boer War, in the Zeerust Commando.²
