Sir James Whalley-Smythe-Gardiner, 2nd Bt. was born in 1748.3 He was the son of Robert Whalley.4 He married, secondly, Jane Master, daughter of Reverend Robert Master and Elizabeth Whalley, on 2 December 1789 at Whalley, Cheshire, England.1,3 He died in 1805.3
