     George Ferguson Cockburn was born on 31 January 1818 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.² He was the son of Henry Thomas Cockburn of Bonaly, Lord Cockburn and Elizabeth Macdowall.^3,2 He married Sarah Charlotte Bishop.² He died in 1866.²
     He was in the Honourable East India Company Service.¹ He was with the Bengal Civil Service between 1836 and 1866.² He was Commissioner of Revenue and Circuit between 1856 and 1860.²

     Mary Ann Amy Macrae Cockburn was born on 29 August 1855 at Calcutta, India^G.² She was the daughter of George Ferguson Cockburn and Sarah Charlotte Bishop.^3,2 She married Lt.-Col. Walter St. George Burke, son of James St. George Burke and Anne Eliza Grubbe, on 6 June 1877.¹ She died on 23 April 1942 at age 86.³
     From 6 June 1877, her married name became Burke.

     Redmond St. George Burke was born on 21 July 1879.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Walter St. George Burke and Mary Ann Amy Macrae Cockburn.² He married Aileen Marion Wrench, daughter of John Mervyn Wrench, on 27 October 1906.¹ He died on 3 August 1951 at age 72.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Cooper’s Hill Engineering College.¹ He was with the Imperial Forest Service at India^G.¹ He lived at Auberies, Bulmer, Essex, England^G.¹

     Colonel Hubert Francis Burke was born on 8 October 1880.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Walter St. George Burke and Mary Ann Amy Macrae Cockburn.² He married Edith Jane Denton, daughter of Charles Ashpital Denton, on 9 May 1916.¹ He died on 26 November 1956 at age 76.¹
     He was educated at Haileybury College, Haileybury, Hertfordshire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, England^G.¹ He was he served in the Aden Hinterland between 1903 and 1904.¹ He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1918, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1915.¹ He was awarded the Croix de Guerre.¹ He was Deputy Assistant Director of Artillery, War Office in 1919.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Artillery.¹

     Edith Jane Denton is the daughter of Charles Ashpital Denton.¹ She married Colonel Hubert Francis Burke, son of Lt.-Col. Walter St. George Burke and Mary Ann Amy Macrae Cockburn, on 9 May 1916.¹
     From 9 May 1916, her married name became Burke. She lived in 1972 at Willow Cottage, Damerham, Fordingbridge, Hampshire, England^G.¹

     Patrick Hubert Charles Burke was born on 2 June 1918.¹ He was the son of Colonel Hubert Francis Burke and Edith Jane Denton.² He died on 26 January 1941 at age 22 at Eritrea^G, on active service.¹
     He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from Worcester College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Artillery.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹

     Nancy Geraldine Burke was born on 12 August 1919.¹ She is the daughter of Colonel Hubert Francis Burke and Edith Jane Denton.²
     She was served in the Second World War with the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry and Auxiliary Territorial Service.¹ She lived in 1972 at Willow Cottage, Samerton, Fordingbridge, Hampshire, England^G.¹

     Rear-Admiral Charles Dominick Burke was born on 24 January 1882.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Walter St. George Burke and Mary Ann Amy Macrae Cockburn.² He married Flametta Elizabeth MacGregor, daughter of William Gordon MacGregor, on 19 November 1921.¹ He died on 19 March 1952 at age 70.¹
