     Sir Francis Pemberton was born in 1625 at St. Albans, Hertfordshire, England.² He was the son of Ralph Pemberton and Frances Kempe.² He married Anne Whichcote, daughter of Sir Jeremy Whichcote, 1st Bt. and Anne Grave, on 12 October 1667.² He died on 10 June 1697 at Highgate, London, England.²
     He held the office of Lord Chief Justice.¹ He graduated from Emmanuel College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1644 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)² He was appointed Knight in 1675.²
