Colonel John Murray was the son of Hugh Murray and unknown daughter Kearns.2 He married, secondly, Mary Cairnes, daughter of Sir Alexander Cairnes, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Gould, in 1734.1 He married, firstly, Bathia Freeman before 1714.2 He died on 29 June 1743.1

Sir William Verner, 1st Bt. was born on 25 October 1782.1 He was the son of Colonel James Verner and Jane Clarke.1 He married Harriet Wingfield, daughter of Colonel Hon. Edward Wingfield and Harriet Esther Westenra, on 19 October 1819.1 He died on 20 January 1871 at age 88.1
He fought in the Battle of Corunna.1 He fought in the Battle of Orthes.1 He fought in the Battle of Toulouse.1 He fought in the Battle of Waterloo.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 7th Hussars.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Armagh between 1832 and 1868.1 He was created 1st Baronet Verner, of Verner’s Bridge, co. Armagh [U.K.] on 22 July 1846.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Hanoverian Order (K.C.H.)1
