     Arthur Edward Clifton was born on 21 December 1824.¹ He was the son of Thomas Joseph Clifton and Hetty Treves.¹ He died in 1850.¹
     He gained the rank of Midsipman in the Royal Navy.¹

     Cuthbert Clifton was born on 16 March 1870.¹ He was the son of Thomas Henry Clifton and Madeline Diana Elizabeth Agnew.¹ He died on 14 October 1900 at age 30 at Edwinsford, Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire, Wales^G, from the effects of sunstroke received in South Africa, unmarried.^1,2 He was buried on 18 October 1900 at Talley, Carmarthenshire, Wales^G.²
     He fought in the Boer War.¹ He gained the rank of officer in the Royal Navy.¹

     Constance Gertrude Cecily Clifton was born between October 1871 and November 1871 at London, England^G.² She was the daughter of Thomas Henry Clifton and Madeline Diana Elizabeth Agnew.¹ She married, firstly, Captain Hon. James Frederick Cumming-Bruce, son of Thomas John Hovell-Thurlow-Cumming-Bruce, 5th Baron Thurlow of Thurlow and Lady Elma Bruce, on 8 December 1891.¹ She married, secondly, Brig.-Gen. Edward Boustead Cuthbertson, son of Thomas Cuthbertson, on 1 January 1910.¹ She died on 29 March 1954, without issue.¹
     She was Woman of the Bedchamber to HRH Princess Christian of Schleswig-Holstein.¹ From 8 December 1891, her married name became Cumming-Bruce.¹ From 1 January 1910, her married name became Cuthbertson.¹

     Captain Hon. James Frederick Cumming-Bruce was born on 24 July 1867.² He was the son of Thomas John Hovell-Thurlow-Cumming-Bruce, 5th Baron Thurlow of Thurlow and Lady Elma Bruce.^1,2 He married Constance Gertrude Cecily Clifton, daughter of Thomas Henry Clifton and Madeline Diana Elizabeth Agnew, on 8 December 1891.¹ He died on 11 December 1899 at age 32 at Maggersfontein, South Africa^G, killed in action.¹
     He was also known as James Frederick Hovell-Thurlow.² He gained the rank of Captain in the Black Watch.² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Nairn.²

     Brig.-Gen. Edward Boustead Cuthbertson was the son of Thomas Cuthbertson.¹ He married Constance Gertrude Cecily Clifton, daughter of Thomas Henry Clifton and Madeline Diana Elizabeth Agnew, on 1 January 1910.¹ He died on 13 May 1942.¹
     He was appointed Member, Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.)¹ He gained the rank of Brigadier-General in the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.¹ He lived at Jermyns, Romsey, Hampshire, England^G.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.)¹

     Thomas Cuthbertson lived at 8 Devonshire Place, London, England^G.¹

     Lt.-Col. Harry Arthur Clifton was born on 5 September 1874.¹ He was the son of Thomas Henry Clifton and Madeline Diana Elizabeth Agnew.¹ He married Gladys Evans, daughter of Sir Griffith Humphrey Pugh Evans, on 2 January 1903.¹ He died on 16 December 1947 at age 73.¹
     He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902, with Bethune’s Horse.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the 7th Dragoon Guards.¹ He fought in the First World War, in Gallipoli and Egypt.¹ He was commander of the Scottish Horse.¹

     Gladys Evans was the daughter of Sir Griffith Humphrey Pugh Evans.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Harry Arthur Clifton, son of Thomas Henry Clifton and Madeline Diana Elizabeth Agnew, on 2 January 1903.¹ She died on 3 August 1955.¹
     From 2 January 1903, her married name became Clifton.¹

     Sir Griffith Humphrey Pugh Evans lived at Lovesgrove, Aberystywth, Cardiganshire, Wales^G.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Indian Empire (K.C.I.E.)¹

     Charles Caryl Clifton was born on 25 April 1877.¹ He was the son of Thomas Henry Clifton and Madeline Diana Elizabeth Agnew.¹ He died on 28 February 1932 at age 54, unmarried.¹
     He fought in the Mashonaland Campaign in 1897.¹ He fought in the Boer War.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Scots Fusiliers.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹
