Lt.-Col. Herbert George Anderson Garsia1 
He gained the rank of Lieutenant on 11 May 1893 in the East Surrey Regiment.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant on 1 April 1894 in the Army Service Crops.1 He was with the Egyptian Army between 31 December 1897 and 17 August 1902.1 He fought in the Sudan Campaign in 1898.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) on 31 October 1902.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel on 2 February 1914.1 He fought in the First World War, as Assistant Adjutant-General, Egyptian Army.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) on 6 December 1919.1
