     Brigadier Brian Arthur Burke was born on 10 December 1906.¹ He was the son of Major Arthur Meredyth Burke and Gertrude Caulfield.² He died on 22 October 1963 at age 56, unmarried.¹
     He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in 1927 in the King’s Own Royal Regiment.¹ He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1945.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1944.¹ He was commander of the 10 Indian Brigade between 1945 and 1946.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in 1950.¹ He was commander of the 27 British Commonwealth Brigade.¹ He fought in the Korean War in 1951.¹ He fought in the Malaya Emergency between 1953 and 1955, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He gained the rank of Brigadier in 1954.¹ He was commander of the 99 Gurkha Brigade.¹ He was Deputy Commander of the (Wales) Mid-West District between 1955 and 1958.¹ He retired from the military in 1958.¹

     Pamela Burke was born on 9 January 1910.¹ She was the daughter of Major Arthur Meredyth Burke and Gertrude Caulfield.² She died on 16 January 1910.³

     Desmond Peter Meredyth Burke was born on 10 May 1912.¹ He is the son of Major Arthur Meredyth Burke and Gertrude Caulfield.²
     He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹ He graduated from Queen’s College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was the headmaster at Clayesmore School, Iwerne Minster, Dorset, England^G.¹

     John Burke was born on 12 November 1786.¹ He was the son of Peter Burke and Anne Dowdall.² He married Mary O’Reilly, daughter of Bernard O’Reilly, on 6 May 1807.¹ He died on 27 March 1848 at age 61.¹
     He wrote the book Burkes Peerage, Baronetage and Knightage, 1st ed., published 1826.³ He wrote the book Burkes Commoners of Great Britian, 1st ed., published 1833, in 3 volumes.³ He lived at London, England^G.¹

     Mary O’Reilly was the daughter of Bernard O’Reilly.² She married John Burke, son of Peter Burke and Anne Dowdall, on 6 May 1807.¹ She died on 17 November 1846.¹
     From 6 May 1807, her married name became Burke.¹

     Peter Joseph Burke was born on 7 May 1811.¹ He was the son of John Burke and Mary O’Reilly.² He died on 26 March 1881 at age 69, unmarried.¹
     He was an author of many legal and historical works.¹ He was a practising Serjeant-at-law.¹ He was appointed Queen’s Counsel (Q.C.) for County Palatine.¹ He lived at Elm Hall, County Tipperary, Ireland.¹
