     He sold Glenelg in 1810.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)1

Louisa Barbara St. John, daughter of St. Andrew St. John, 14th Baron Saint John of Bletso and Louise Rouse-Boughton, on 15 July 1837.1 He married, secondly, Johanna von Ettingshausen, daughter of unknown Baron von Ettingshausen, on 7 July 1881.2 He died on 5 February 1895 at age 82.2
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.2 In 1847 he encumbered his estates in giving relief in the great potato famine.2
