     Matilda Anne Eagar was born circa 1810.¹ She was the daughter of Major Francis Russell Eagar.¹ She married John Gorges Beresford, son of Rev. Hon. George Beresford and Susan Gorges, on 21 October 1826.¹ She died on 25 February 1886.¹
     Her married name became Beresford.

     Major Francis Russell Eagar is the son of Robert Eagar.²

     Major Hamilton de la Poer Beresford was born on 20 September 1849.¹ He was the son of John Gorges Beresford and Matilda Anne Eagar.¹ He married Charlotte Sophia Cockburn, daughter of Captain William Peter Cockburn and Johanna Charlotte Forbes, on 24 April 1879 at Portsea, Hampshire, England^G.^1,2 He died on 3 March 1942 at age 92.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Marines Artillery.¹

     Charlotte Sophia Cockburn was born on 26 March 1851 at India^G.² She was the daughter of Captain William Peter Cockburn and Johanna Charlotte Forbes.^1,2 She was baptised on 4 June 1851.² She married Major Hamilton de la Poer Beresford, son of John Gorges Beresford and Matilda Anne Eagar, on 24 April 1879 at Portsea, Hampshire, England^G.^1,2 She died in 1929.¹
     Her married name became Beresford.

     Susan Georgina Beresford was the daughter of John Gorges Beresford and Matilda Anne Eagar.¹ She married Reverend G. G. Bird on 6 February 1877.¹ She died in March 1906.¹
     Her married name became Bird.

     Reverend G. G. Bird married Susan Georgina Beresford, daughter of John Gorges Beresford and Matilda Anne Eagar, on 6 February 1877.¹
     He was the Vicar at Hollinhead^G.¹

     Captain Henry Beresford was the son of Rev. Hon. George Beresford and Susan Gorges.¹ He married Dora Watson, daughter of W. Watson, on 7 July 1838.¹ He died on 15 March 1842.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 71st Regiment.¹

     Dora Watson was the daughter of W. Watson.¹ She married Captain Henry Beresford, son of Rev. Hon. George Beresford and Susan Gorges, on 7 July 1838.¹ She died in 1858, without issue.¹

     Elizabeth Anne Beresford was the daughter of Rev. Hon. George Beresford and Susan Gorges.¹ She married Myles John O’Reilly on 16 June 1829.¹ She died on 27 March 1838.¹
     Her married name became O’Reilly.

     Myles John O’Reilly married Elizabeth Anne Beresford, daughter of Rev. Hon. George Beresford and Susan Gorges, on 16 June 1829.¹ He died on 24 October 1857.¹
