Dominick Browne, 1st Baron Oranmore and Browne 
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at St. John’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for County Mayo between 1814 and 1826.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for County Mayo between 1830 and 1836.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of County Mayo between 1834 and 1842.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] on 7 November 1834.1 He rebuilt Castle Macgarrett in Tudor Revival style.1 He was created 1st Baron Oranmore and Browne of Carra Browne Castle in Oranmore, in the county of the town of Galway and of Castle Mac Garrett in the county of Mayo [Ireland] on 4 May 1836.1
