Charles Edward Ernst Shackleton was born on 6 October 1942.² He was the son of Edward Arthur Alexander Shackleton, Baron Shackleton and Betty Muriel Marguerite Homan.^1,2 He married Lady Caroline Harriet Hastings, daughter of Francis John Clarence Westenra Plantagenet Hastings, 16th Earl of Huntingdon and Margaret Lane, on 6 June 1970.¹ He died in 1979.¹

Warner Francis John Plantagenet Hastings, 15th Earl of Huntingdon and Maud Margaret Wilson.¹ She married, firstly, Captain Patrick Keith Cameron, son of Keith Cameron, on 16 July 1918.¹ She married, secondly, Captain John Walter Wilson Bridges, son of Rear-Admiral Walter Bogue Bridges, in 1943.¹ She died on 22 April 1947 at age 51.¹
     From 16 July 1918, her married name became Cameron.¹ From 1943, her married name became Bridges.¹

     Captain Patrick Keith Cameron was the son of Keith Cameron.¹ He married Lady Marian Ileene Mabel Hastings, daughter of Lt.-Col. Warner Francis John Plantagenet Hastings, 15th Earl of Huntingdon and Maud Margaret Wilson, on 16 July 1918.¹ He died on 8 February 1933.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Cameron Highlanders.¹

     Captain John Walter Wilson Bridges was the son of Rear-Admiral Walter Bogue Bridges.¹ He married Lady Marian Ileene Mabel Hastings, daughter of Lt.-Col. Warner Francis John Plantagenet Hastings, 15th Earl of Huntingdon and Maud Margaret Wilson, in 1943.¹ He died on 4 August 1952.¹

     Rear-Admiral Walter Bogue Bridges lived at Birch, Essex, England^G.¹ He was appointed Fellow, Royal Geographical Society (F.R.G.S.)¹
