He married, secondly, Lady Charlotte Elizabeth Anne Curzon, daughter of Edward Richard Assheton Penn Curzon, 6th Earl Howe and Grace Lilian Barker Wakeling, in 1988.1 He married, firstly, Amanda Mildred Vincent, daughter of Sir Lacey Eric Vincent, 2nd Bt. and Helen Millicent Robertson, on 5 December 1961.3
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Irish Guards.1 Captain John Barry Dinan usually went by his middle name of Barry.1
