John D’Urban Scott1

He gained the rank of Midshipman in the Royal Navy.1 He fought in the Battle of Jutland on 31 May 1916.1

Colonel Sir Douglas Winchester Scott, 2nd Bt. was born on 4 February 1907.1 He was the son of Rear-Admiral Sir Percy Moreton Scott, 1st Bt. and Teresa Roma Dixon-Hartland.3 He married Elizabeth Joyce Glanley, daughter of Archibald Lloyd Glanley, on 22 July 1933.1 He died on 10 April 1984 at age 77 at Chichester, Sussex, England.1,2
He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Scott, of Witley, Surrey [U.K., 1913] on 18 October 1924.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Staff Captain in 1940 in the 1st Armoured Division.1 He was commanding officer of the 3rd Hussars in 1944.1 He was commanding officer of the 9th Queen’s Royal Lancers in 1947.1 He retired from the military, with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in 1955 in the 3rd Hussars.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in 1962 in the Queen’s Own Hussars.1
