     He was (an unknown value) at Royal Academy School, Gosport, Hampshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.³ He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.³ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal (D.S.M.) U.S.³ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1919.¹ He was Chief Inspector of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution between 1919 and 1930.¹

     William Paterson Muir was born on 23 July 1823 at Monkton, Ayrshire, Scotland^G.² He married an unknown person on 7 November 1856 at Melbourne, Victoria, Australia^G.² He married Elizabeth Mary Cairns, daughter of Reverend Adam Cairns, on 7 November 1856 at Melbourne, Victoria, Australia^G.² He died on 12 December 1873 at age 50 at Erin Street, Richmond, Victoria, Australia^G.²
     He lived at Melbourne, Victoria, Australia^G.¹ He was manager of the Land Mortgage Bank of Victoria.²

     Alice Udall Muir was the daughter of William Paterson Muir and Elizabeth Mary Cairns.^2,3 She married Captain Howard Fiennes Julius Rowley, son of Reverend Julius Henry Rowley and Julia Molyneux, on 27 March 1900.¹ She died circa 1950.¹
     From 27 March 1900, her married name became Rowley.

     Geraldine Howard Rowley was the daughter of Captain Howard Fiennes Julius Rowley and Alice Udall Muir.² She died on 27 December 1930, unmarried.¹

     George Guy Singleton Rowley was born on 24 December 1874.¹ He was the son of Reverend Julius Henry Rowley and Julia Molyneux.² He married Sarah Turp Bridge, daughter of Robert Bridge, in 1913.¹ He died on 3 October 1935 at age 60.¹
     He fought in the First World War, with the Remount Service.¹

     Sarah Turp Bridge is the daughter of Robert Bridge.² She married George Guy Singleton Rowley, son of Reverend Julius Henry Rowley and Julia Molyneux, in 1913.¹
     From 1913, her married name became Rowley.

     Frederica Julia Rowley was the daughter of Reverend Julius Henry Rowley and Julia Molyneux.² She married, firstly, John Rolland Singleton on 1 June 1893.¹ She and John Rolland Singleton were divorced in 1901.¹ She married, secondly, William Edward Meade on 17 July 1903.² She died on 23 February 1960.¹
     From 1 June 1893, her married name became Singleton. From 17 July 1903, her married name became Meade.²

     John Rolland Singleton married Frederica Julia Rowley, daughter of Reverend Julius Henry Rowley and Julia Molyneux, on 1 June 1893.¹ He and Frederica Julia Rowley were divorced in 1901.¹
