He gained the rank of Captain in the Scots Fusiliers Guards.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet McMahon, of Dublin [U.K., 1815] in 1837.1

He gained the rank of Captain in the 2nd Life Guards.2 He was Attaché to the British Legation at Munich, Bavaria, GermanyG.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Clare.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Tyrone.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet McMahon, of Dublin [U.K., 1815] on 11 January 1873.1

He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 58th Regiment.1 He fought in the Zulu War in 1879.1 He was admitted to Inner Temple entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Tyrone.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet McMahon, of Dublin [U.K., 1815] on 3 June 1905.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Couty Tyrone in 1914.1 On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.1
