     Sir William McMahon, 1st Bt. was born on 12 July 1776.² He was the son of John McMahon and Mary Stacpoole.¹ He married, firstly, Frances Burston, daughter of Beresford Burston, on 16 May 1807.² He married, secondly, Charlotte Shaw, daughter of Robert Shaw and Mary Higgins, on 9 September 1814.³ He died in 1837.³
     He was a practising barrister.² He held the office of Master of the Rolls [Ireland].² He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)² He was created 1st Baronet McMahon, of Dublin [U.K.] on 6 May 1815.²

     He was a party to lawsuits involving the esate of his mother’s uncle, John Stacpoole.¹ He lived at Cloghernatiny, County Clare, Ireland^G.¹

     Katherine Coppinger is the daughter of Thomas Coppinger.¹ She married Joseph Ronayne.¹
     Her married name became Ronayne.¹

     John Stacpoole is the son of Philip Stacpoole.¹
     He lived at Craigbrien, Ireland.¹

     George William Stacpoole was born on 20 March 1774.¹ He was the son of William Stacpoole and Dorothea Burton.¹ He died in 1822, unmarried.¹
     He was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn in 1792.¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G, with a Doctor of Law (LL.D.)¹

     Dorothea Griffin was the daughter of Richard Griffin.¹ She married John Stacpoole, son of John Stacpoole and Catherine Connolly, on 30 November 1800.¹ She died on 3 April 1802.¹
     From 30 November 1800, her married name became Stacpoole.¹

     Richard Griffin lived at Ennis, County Clare, Ireland^G.¹
