Sir Francis Dyke Acland, 10th/14th Bt. was born on 7 March 1874.1 He was the son of Rt. Hon. Sir Arthur Herbert Dyke Acland, 9th/13th Bt. and Alice Sophia Cunningham.1 He married, firstly, Eleanor Margaret Cropper, daughter of Charles James Cropper and Hon. Edith Emily Holland, on 31 August 1905.1 He married, secondly, Constance Dudley, daughter of George Denis Darville Dudley, on 10 December 1937.1 He died on 9 June 1939 at age 65.1
He was Junior Examiner of the Education Department between 1900 and 1903.1 He held the office of Parliamentary Private Secretary between 1906 and 1908, to the Secretary of State for War.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Richmond, Yorkshire between 1906 and 1910.1 He held the office of Finance Secretary of the Treasury between 1908 and 1911.1 He was a member of the Army Council between 1908 and 1911.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cambourne between 1910 and 1922.1 He held the office of Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs between 1911 and 1915.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1915.1 He held the office of Finance Secretary of the Treasury in 1915.1 He held the office of Parliamentary Secretary for the Board of Agriculture and Fisheries from 1915 to 1916.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Devon.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the North Riding, Yorkshire.1 He was a member of the Senate of London University.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Devon.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Tiverton from 1923 to 1924.1 He succeeded as the 10th Baronet Acland, of Columb-John, Devon [E., 1678] on 9 October 1926.1 He succeeded as the 14th Baronet Acland, of Columb-John, Devon [E., 1644] on 9 October 1926.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for North Cornwall in 1932.1
