     Eleanor Mary Naylor was the daughter of Captain Henry Naylor.² She married Lt.-Col. William Sykes, son of Reverend John Heath Sykes and Frances Amelia Nind, on 14 January 1896.¹ She died on 5 June 1958.¹
     From 14 January 1896, her married name became Sykes.

     Brigadier John Henry Sykes was born on 15 October 1896.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. William Sykes and Eleanor Mary Naylor.² He married, firstly, Leila Flowerdew Macphee, daughter of D. S. Macphee, on 30 January 1919.¹ He married, secondly, Florence Kathleen Turner, daughter of William Turner, in 1971.¹ He died on 10 April 1975 at age 78.¹
     He was educated at Christ’s Hospital, London, England^G.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the Palestine Campaign.¹ He fought in the North-West Frontier between 1930 and 1931, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He fought in the Second World War, in Egypt, North Africa and North-West Europe, and was mentioned in despatches.¹ He gained the rank of Brigadier in the Indian Army.¹

     D. S. Macphee lived at Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Leila Flowerdew Macphee was born on 21 October 1894 at Patrick, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland^G.² She was the daughter of D. S. Macphee.³ She married Brigadier John Henry Sykes, son of Lt.-Col. William Sykes and Eleanor Mary Naylor, on 30 January 1919.¹ She died on 28 September 1970 at age 75 at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹
     From 30 January 1919, her married name became Sykes.
