He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Rich, of Sonning, co. Berks [E., 1661] on 17 July 1762.1,4 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Marlow between 1784 and 1790.6 He gained the rank of Vice-Admiral in the Royal Navy.4
