He was educated at Fettes College, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.1 He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Jardine, of Applegirth [N.S., 1672] on 14 January 1893.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 1st Volunteer Battalion, Cheshire Regiment and Calcutta Light Horse.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902.1 He was admitted to the Royal Company of Archers.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Dumfriesshire.1 He gained the rank of Major in the 3rd Battalion, King’s Own Scottish Borderers.1 He lived at Jardine Hall, Dumfries-shire, ScotlandG.1
