     He gained the rank of Major-General in the 75th Regiment.¹

     Charles Curtis lived at Cluna, County Offaly, Ireland^G.¹

     Eliza Curtis was the daughter of Charles Curtis.² She married Maj.-Gen. Alexander Jardine, son of Sir Alexander Jardine of Applegirth, 6th Bt. and Janet Dorcas Maule, in 1830.¹ She died on 14 March 1870.¹
     From 1830, her married name became Jardine.¹

     John Jardine was born on 5 March 1807 at Dumfries-shire, Scotland^G.^1,2 He was the son of Sir Alexander Jardine of Applegirth, 6th Bt. and Janet Dorcas Maule.³ He married Elizabeth Jane Craig, daughter of Captain William Henry Craig and Jane McGill, on 22 August 1837.¹ He died on 27 February 1874 at age 66 at Soneleigh, Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia^G.^1,2
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 1st Royals.¹ He was Police Magistrate at Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia^G.² He was Commissioner of the Goldfields in 1859 at Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia^G.^1,2

     Elizabeth Jane Craig was the daughter of Captain William Henry Craig and Jane McGill.^3,2 She married John Jardine, son of Sir Alexander Jardine of Applegirth, 6th Bt. and Janet Dorcas Maule, on 22 August 1837.¹ She died in 1890 at Queensland, Australia^G.^1,2
     From 22 August 1837, her married name became Jardine.¹

     Francis Lascelles Jardine was born on 28 August 1841 at New South Wales, Australia^G.^1,2 He was the son of John Jardine and Elizabeth Jane Craig.³ He married Sana Solia, daughter of unknown (?), on 16 October 1873.¹ He died on 17 March 1919 at age 77 at Somerset, Cape York, Queensland, Australia^G.^1,2
     Francis Lascelles Jardine also went by the nick-name of Frank.² He was Government resident for Somerset and Thursday Island.² He held the office of Police Magistrate.² He lived at Somerset, Cape York, Queensland, Australia^G.¹ He lived at Lockerbie, Queensland, Australia^G.¹

     Sana Solia was born circa 1856.² She was the daughter of unknown (?)¹ She married Francis Lascelles Jardine, son of John Jardine and Elizabeth Jane Craig, on 16 October 1873.¹ She died in September 1923 at Queensland, Australia^G.^1,2 She was buried at Somerset, Cape York, Queensland, Australia^G.²
     From 16 October 1873, her married name became Jardine.¹

     Hugh Herries Cholmondeley Lascelles Jardine was born in October 1881.¹ He was the son of Francis Lascelles Jardine and Sana Solia.² He died on 30 December 1935 at age 54 at Aru Islands, Indonesia^G, from a brain clot.^1,3
